The Boonville Farmers’ Market has announced they will be moving the market to the Oneida County Fair Grounds. For the past three years, the Market has been located along the canal behind Nice ‘n Easy. A devastating fire in February destroyed the barn at the site, along with all the Market’s equipment and signage. Kelly Ulrich, Market Co-Manager, stated, “We totally understand that it is going to take some time and a lot of effort to get the site of the fire cleaned up. And no doubt that means there will be heavy equipment, construction traffic and hazards in the area. Our major concern is for the safety of our vendors and the shoppers at the Market. Therefore, we made a very difficult decision to relocate the Market to the Oneida County Fair Grounds.” Judie Dellerba, Market Co-Manager stated, “The Famers’ Market committee has thought long and hard about relocating, and with the current condition of the site and the need for more room, plus this gives shoppers more parking and easier access in and out of the market.
The market will open: Thursday, June 20th and run until Thursday, October 10th From 12 noon until 6pm.
BUT...there's another surprize... Thursday, July 4th Thursday, August 8th and Thursday, September 5th Our hours will be 3pm - 8pm!
We know that there are working people who would like to shop the Farmers' Market, but can not because of the hours. So we are having three days with evening hours! On those days the market will not open at noon, but at 3pm and stay open until 8pm. We are also planning some special activities for the evening market days that we know will make the market experience even more fun.
Check back here, and watch for more information in the Boonville Herald and on The Moose.
